I had a jar sprouter which I no longer use as it gets too warm in my current apartment. So, I am in need of something that will not mold. I've been looking at the Easy Green auto sprout sys. Has anyone used this or have any other suggestions?

Re: sprouters
Wed, April 8, 2009 - 7:12 AMI don't have any experience with Easy Green -- but, if you want something cheaper than an auto-sprouter, I would check out a small tray sprouter. It drains much better and more evenly than a jar sprouter, and that may help to ward off mold.
(Another technique that helps to avoid mold is the careful and diluted use of food-grade hydrogen peroxide to rinse your sprouting system and your sprouts at the very beginning of the process.)
I've had lots of success with a small Burpee tray sprouter I got for about $13. You can even find tray sprouters at Amazon.com, just search for "sprouter." Wheatgrasskits.com also offers a variety of sprouting-system options (along with a lot of organic seeds and beans).
Hope this helps! -

Thank you. -

Tue, April 14, 2009 - 12:36 AMAlso check out The Sproutman's Sprout Bags.
My mom had really good luck with these super simple natural fabric bags in our super muggy Missouri weather......
And I'm SURE you could make them yourself even cheaper! -
